CROP CIRCLES – MESSAGES FROM BEYOND Crop Circles (or “crop glyphs” as they are referred to in the world of crop circle literature) have been appearing all over the world for many years but it wasn’t until the late 1960’s that cases were being documented and investigators began to take a avid interest in these strange formations. Even though there is not a great deal of literature recorded over the centuries regarding the appearance of crop circles, there was a reference in early French literature (800AD). In Lyon, the local bishop was leaving and he had sent letters to the replacement priest who was heading to the village, warning him of cases of “devil worship” by the locals. He had witnessed the local village people collecting seeds out of “flattened circles” and would watch in horror as they used them for their annual fertilitiy rites, which included dancing, feasting and lovemaking. Oh, the absolute cheek of these local villagers having a good time.
During the early 1980’s crop circles were beginning to appear more regularly. Investigators were increasing their efforts to study and collect data from these circles. The first documented appearances of these circles were quite simple in design and structure and as the sightings increased there were reports of some of them ranging in sizes from ten to thirty feet in diameter. As we neared the end of the 1980’s, the circles were more complex in shape, design and structure. It was during this time there was an upsurge in media attention and the public was sitting up and taking notice of them.
Theories were spreading through the public. Who was leaving these immense shapes carved into the crop field, and what are they trying to tell us. Is it a life force from another world, a distant civilization, leaving us a message, a sign to let us know they are watching us. Other speculative causes ranged from environmental shifts, meteorological effects, secret military experiments and the obvious, it was all a hoax. Not surprisingly, some of these crop circles were hoaxes as the public soon found out. In the late 1980’s, two men, Doug and Dave came forward claiming they had made all the crop circles in England since 1980.
Even after Doug and Dave became short lived celebrities for duping the nation, researchers were still convinced that some of the formations which continued to appear were not all man made, but in fact, intricate and well defined structures that appeared to have no logical explanation whatsoever, that had to come from another life source, other than man.
Another point of interest regarding crop circles is they appear all over the world, not just in Southern England as many people have been led to believe. Formations or glyphs have also been discovered in ice in the mountains of Afghanistan, the Arizona desert in USA, cane fields in Australia, grass fields in Europe, and even underwater in rice paddy fields in Japan.
Researchers carry out thorough testing whenever a new circle appears. Their testing methods are detailed and do admit that a vast majority of these crop circles are in fact man made. Yet, there is still a percentage of these extraordinary phenomenon which investigators cannot explain. Recently the public’s interest was set in motion again due to the release of the successful and controversial movie “Signs”. The buzz surrounding the movie increased the curiosity of the public, to once again ask the question, who is doing them?
Some points to consider:
- Scientific research have discovered an energy source within the genuine formations which is able to alter the growth rate of the crops. Characteristics of crops within the circle differ from those outside the circle. Scientists to date have been unable to indentify this energy source.
- Researchers who have visited the crop circles sites have reported physical effects such as – “metallic” taste left in the mouth, dizziness, nausea, headaches, blurred vision, short term and long term healing to minor aches and pains.
- Emotional changes have been reported by people which range from feelings of great joy and euphoria, to extreme sadness, fear and in some cases depression.
- Visitors have claimed a loss of consciousness of time. They have also reported unusual experiences as though being suspended in time.
- Animals react strangely when nearing the circles, preferring to go around the circle, rather than within.
- Mechanical failure of watches, cameras, video cameras, mobile telephones have also been widely documented to malfunction and stop working when they are inside the circle.
- Reports of loud sounds have been heard ranging from continuous clicking noises to a dull humming echo.
- People have reported witnessing balls of orange/white lights hovering and moving around the vortex of the circle, even several days after the circle has been discovered.
